Bluetooth Smart is one of the leading technologies for connecting sensors wirelessly to a local hub (smart phone or tablet). The extremely low power consumption ensures that remote sensors can
be powered from a small battery or energy harvesting sub-system for long periods of time without the need for human intervention. We will explain in detail the design tradeoffs that should be made to ensure that optimum performance is achieved, all illustrated by examples of real systems.
