Setting the Standard for IoT & Portable Devices - TMC2300 - Trinamic and TOP-electronics
The TMC2300 is the answer to battery-powered stepper motors that need to be invisible to the senses. Silent, small, precise, and extremely efficient with a standby current draw of < 50nA, the 2-phase stepper motor driver changes the way motors are used in portable devices and IoT. The TMC2300 is world’s smallest single-chip motor driver with StealthChop, StallGuard and CoolStep for lowest power consumption, allowing stepper motors to seamlessly blend in with their environment without compromising on performance. It’s the perfect low-voltage solution for big innovations in a small package.
TRINAMIC Motion Control GmbH & Co. KG unveils world’s smallest single-chip motor driver with StealthChop™. Setting the standard for 2-phase stepper motors up to 1.2A RMS and a voltage range of 1.8V…11V DC, the TMC2300 offers lowest power consumption while hiding the fact there’s a motor involved at all. From now on, 1 or 2 Li-Ion cells or 2 AA batteries are all you need to drive innovation.
The lowest power consumption comes from Trinamic’s sophisticated StealthChop2 chopper and the chip’s extremely low RDSon using an integrated charge pump. Combined with CoolStep™ for longer running time and up to 90% energy savings, the TMC2300 is perfect for IoT and handheld devices, battery-operated equipment, point-of-sale devices and printers, toys, office and home automation including smart thermostatic radiator valves, miniature medical devices, and many more.
Combining Trinamic’s latest technologies such as StealthChop2™ and StallGuard4™, the low-voltage stepper driver makes stepper motors blend in with their environment and eliminates the need for limit switches with sensorless homing. This allows new use cases for portable devices including medical applications where users don’t want to draw attention their little helpers using the most advanced technology. Since the TMC2300 doesn’t compromise on performance, it’s also ideal for turning once stationary devices into portable, battery-powered devices that are convenient to use.
Powering stepper motors off battery voltages as low as 1.8V with all the latest current control and diagnostics technologies at hand, Trinamic’s TMC2300 allows for smarter, more efficient, and totally silent battery-operated devices. Trinamic’s smallest, single-chip motor driver sets the standard for advanced low-voltage and highly efficient stepper motor drivers.
