As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of OrCAD and 30 years of continued investment and innovation of OrCAD technology, our newest release – OrCAD 16.6-2015 – will soon be available. New advanced high-speed features now include minimum/maximum and relative propagation, static phase differential pair constraints, delay tuning, heads-up displays. Productivity improvements include high-speed contraints and routing, group/contour routing, scribble routing and via arrays. Check out the videos below for a sneak peek at some of the upcoming functionality of OrCAD PCB Editor.
High-speed Constraints and Routing
New constraint and routing features will help you design high-speed nets:
- Relative Propogation Delay: Specify the delay requirements of matched groups
- Static Phase Control: Control the matched length between the nets for differential pairs
- Delay Tune: Interactively add or remove needed length along a trace
- Heads-up Displays: Real-time constraint feedback while editing high-speed nets
Contour Routing
The new Contour Routing feature aligns traces along the curved areas of a design during routing; such as the contour of a flex design.
Group Routing
The updated Group Route capability streamlines routing multiple traces at once with improved gather, spacing control, and via patterns.
Net Schedule / T-points
Net Scheduling allows you define specific ordered routing sequences for nets with multiple connections. T-points define the end or branch points along a net allowing each segment to be constrained as needed.
Scribble Routing
Scribble is a simple routing mode that allows you to ‘draw’ a route path for the trace to automatically follow. It provides a quick two-pick methodology to generate complex route paths, along with very controlled usage of push/shove based on the scribble path.
Via Arrays
Via Array functionality allows you to quickly and easily create a matrix or boundry of vias for plane stitching or net shielding. Matrix parameters can be defined to meet needed requiremetns and vias are added adhearing to design DRC constraints.
Currently the OrCAD 16.6-2015 release is scheduled to be available for customers with a valid maintenance contract to download on June 26th 2015.
