Today platforms like Silicon Expert, IHS, Octopart and many more are used by designers to check availability, PCN’s, PTN’s and EOL data. In a few clicks on one screen are all the data. Engineers make critical decisions based on that information.

Beyond doubt these platforms close the information gap and fulfill the users need. There are data provided from manufacturers, and some data are calculated. Important is to interpret the data the right way, to not fall into a trap being in deceptive security.

In this seminar, we dive deeper in challenges like: How do we keep the data accurate? How accurate is information based on algorithms? How do we make sure that our data is transferred correctly to those platforms? Who carries the liability for the information? What’s the advantage working with those platforms?
