“How does one develop automotive production class software, reliable enough to control an electric racecar that should endure a 24-hour race, under the toughest conditions imaginable for electronics? Vibrations, dust, G-forces, and extreme temperatures are some examples that test the electronics of a racecar to the fullest. In case of any failure, faulty sensor or signals being exposed to electromagnetic fields the software should still be able to control the vehicle safely. For the development, simulation, and testing of all its vehicle functions, InMotion uses Matlab/Simulink models that are automatically translated to embedded software.”
