New Tekbox TBCG3 Series Comb generators for Conducted and Radiated Emissions
Comb generators produce a wide spectrum of equally spaced spectral lines. The comb frequency is equal to the frequency gap between neighbouring spectral lines. Comb generators are purpose-built interferers used to test setups for conducted or radiated emissions. Comb generators for testing radiated emission setups have been characterised in an absorber chamber and can thus be used as a reference source for non-ideal test setups.
Tekbox introduced the TBCG3 serie Comb Reference generators. Model TBCG2-CN is intended for Conducted emission, while TBCG3-RN2 and TBCG3-RN are intended for Radiated emission up to 2 or 6 GHz respectively.
TBCG3-CN for Conducted Emission
The TBCG3-CN comb generator is primarily designed to verify conducted emission test set ups. It is a useful tool to validate correct operation of the LISN, correct set-up and correct configuration of the spectrum analyzer.
A rotary switch allows you to choose between five fixed comb frequencies and an external excitation input with a frequency range of 5 kHz to 300 MHz.
The TBCG3-CN comb generator comes with country specific adapter cables, which plug into the DUT socket of the (unpowered!) LISN.
TNCG3-RN2/RN6 for Conducted Emission
The TBCG3-RN2 and RN6 6 comb generator are primarily intended for testing radiated emission setups. Itis a useful tool for validating the proper operation of the antenna and pre-amplifier, as well asthe accurate set-up and configuration of the spectrum analyzer. It is well characterized in an anechoic chamber and the radiated emission plots can be used as a reference to compare an EUT in a non-ideal setup against the comb generator in the same location. You can select between five fixed comb frequencies and an external comb frequency input with a range of 5 kHz to 200 MHz using a rotary switch.
The TBCG3-RN2/RN6 comb generators are tested in an anechoic chamber at 1 meter height and 3 meters from the antennamounted at a fixed height of 1m. These radiated emission plots can be used as a reference to compare an EUT in a non-ideal setup against the comb generator in the same location.
The comb generator is supplied with two monopole antennas, a 30 cm monopole for frequencies below 300-500 MHz and a 10 cm monopole for frequencies above that.
