Recently ICTroom joined the European GreenDataNet project which is working to change how technology is applied to improve energy usage and environmental performance of Data Centers.
The purpose of the project is to develop new, integrated energy management and optimisation techniques from rack to grid, leveraging networks of data centres and renewable energies to further increase their energy performance and decrease their overall environmental footprint.
The project is being delivered by a consortium of academics, research institutions, and private companies, led by power management company Eaton, under a €2.9m European Commission grant. Next to ICTroom, the other partners are: The Commission for Atomic and Alternative Energies (CEA), The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), Nissan, Credit Suisse, and the University of Trento (UNITN).
