At InnoCore, In-vitro release (IVR) experiments are performed to test the release characteristics of an injectable sustained release formulation.
We automated this procedure by implementing a pipetting robot for the liquid handling activities, and by developing a dedicated software application. This “IVR-Manager” keeps track of all experiments, each with different settings. It generates the worklists for the pipetting robot, to collect the samples to be analyzed and, if necessary, backup samples for later use. Finally, it generates the worklists for the chromatography systems, for the analysis of the collected samples.
Our approach resulted in an IVR setup with high flexibility, which is implemented in our lab for routine R&D work.
