The pressure on analytical labs concerning time and costs is constantly growing. To compete in the market, innovation is mandatory. Institute Kirchhoff Berlin is an independent service provider with many years’ experience of analyzing food, drinking water, utensils, pharmaceutical products and animal feed. Our laboratories cover a comprehensive range procedures using state of the art analysis equipment.
For food control, official methods prevail. Although, analytical methods are strongly regulated, there is always room for new developments. It is necessary to focus not only on highly sensitive detection systems but also on an optimized sample preparation. During this talk the automation of a standardized method will be presented on the example of the 3-MCPD and glycidyl ester determination in foodstuffs. Combining the DGF C-VI 18 (10) method with the MCPD Workstation allows an efficient quantification of this common analysis parameter for fats, oils and fatty foods. The background of 3-MCPD analysis will be elucidated, validation data will be presented and the applicability on a wide range of food products will be shown.
