Substantive program is starting to take shape
The LabNL fair has a strong substantive program with three themes, namely: lab optimization, life science, and separation and detection techniques.
In the previous newsletter we already informed you that the kick-off of the trade fair on Tuesday 26 September will be done by Erik Scherder, in this aricle, you read more about the substantive program of the fair.
Lab Optimization
Erik Scherder’s lecture focuses on vitality and the brain. Following his lecture, we are organizing an ergonomics workshop for lab technicians. Many repetitive actions, a lot of sitting or standing work makes working in a laboratory physically demanding. In this workshop we give tips & tricks to deal with this better.
We are also working on a seminar on data and a workshop on lean laboratory.
Life Science
One of the topics we discuss within the life science theme is the developments in DNA technologies. Raymond Staals of WUR takes us through the origins of CRIPSR Cas and the milestones achieved, and gives a look at new technologies. Johan den Dunnen of LUMC gives a lecture on DNA-based healthcare.
The successful workshop on sustainability during WoTS 2022 will be continued during LabNL 2023.
We also want to get started with a seminar on sample management. If you have ideas for this or if you want to help think about ideas? Please contact us at eline@fhi.nl.
Theme detection and separation techniques
Within the theme of detection and separation techniques, we organize a number of interactive sessions together with our content partner Avans+, namely:
– Which column do I choose for which application.
– The advantages and disadvantages of detection systems.
– Basic considerations for purchasing a device.
We want to help the lab employee in an accessible way with very practical matters that he/she has to deal with in his work.
In addition, we are setting up two seminars, namely on PFAS and on supercritical fluid chromatography. Do you have customers or relations who want to give a presentation about this? Let us know at wendy@fhi.nl.
More exposure on the website of LabNL
If you participate in LabNL 2023, you are not only physically visible on the exhibition floor: as an exhibitor you can put an extensive company profile online on the LabNL website free of charge. You are also able to post (product) news yourself. In short, a handy online marketing tool that further increases the findability and exposure of your company.
In the run-up to LabNL – from Tuesday 26 to Thursday 28 September in Jaarbeurs Utrecht – we see that the number of visits to the exhibition website is increasing enormously. Thousands of users search for interesting information on this website. The website offers a neutral platform where information from the organization, exhibitors, speakers and other partners come together.
Filling your profile and posting news items is an important factor to further increase your online visibility. And that is very simple: as exhibitor, you receive the login details from us. You then can not only build or supplement your profile on the LabNL website, but also post your own content. More information about the platform and our other online services can be found on the FHI website.
Session “What else can I do with my lab training?”
During the participants’ meetings, the idea arose to organize a daily session during LabNL for lab technicians who are curious about a job outside of the lab. We regularly see laboratory technicians make the transition from working in laboratories to working in the commercial laboratory sector. We want to inform this group about the (switching) possibilities.
We are looking for exhibitors who want to think along about the details of these sessions. Are you interested? Let us know by sending an email to wendy@fhi.nl.
