As one of the first certification bodies to be qualified by the Zhaga light engine consortium, DEKRA is now also one of the first bodies authorised to undertake certification tests to Zhaga Specification Books 4, 7 and 8.
Zhaga continues with the development of further light engine standards in order to promote the wider adoption of LED lighting. The scope of each Book is as follows:
- Specification Book 4 defines the interfaces of a non-socketable LED module with separate electronic control gear. This is a high brightness source for use in applications such as street lighting and industrial high-bay luminaires.
- Specification Book 7 covers several form factors of indoor light engines with separate electronic control gear.
- Specification Book 8 covers socketable LED light engines with integrated control gear and an 85 mm base. These units are similar to those covered by Specification Book 2, but have a larger base.
These new specifications are currently only available to Zhaga members, but will be made public at a later date. As a member of the Zhaga Consortium we are fully aware of the developments and have already issued the first test reports. In this way we can help you reduce your time to market with innovative lighting products.
