The circuitry used to drive and control LED lighting often introduces undesirable temporal light modulation – commonly referred to as flicker. Detrimental effects include, for example, headaches, eyestrain, epilepsy, phantom images and stroboscopic effects. Currently, there is much research and activity by standards organisations in this area. This talk explains the latest best practice guidance for lighting manufacturers regarding flicker measurement.
