Lifelines is a large, multi-generational, prospective cohort study that includes over 167,000 participants (10%) from the northern population of the Netherlands. Our rapidly expanding data collection is available to all researchers working in the multidisciplinary field of healthy ageing.
Our commitment to maximizing the accessibility of our data and samples, coupled with our longitudinal and open protocol, presents the significant challenge of maintaining the continual expansion of our data collection in a FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) manner and ensuring that our participants remain engaged in the study.
During this presentation we will delve into the strategies and initiatives implemented by Lifelines to address the challenges associated with an ever-growing big data collection. Furthermore, we will discuss how researchers can leverage the rich dataset and diverse biological samples available through Lifelines to advance their specific health-related research questions.
