Bioinformatics is a new emerging field within the Life Sciences. Bioinformatics involves the development and application of computational methods to analyze and interpret large biological datasets. This includes everything from DNA sequencing data to protein structure information, and even clinical data form patient samples.
Bioinformatics tools and techniques help researchers to uncover patterns and relationships in these datasets that would be impossible to discern by manual analysis. Bioinformatics is a highly interdisciplinary field, and researchers in this area often come from backgrounds in computer science, statistics, mathematics, chemistry, or biology.
In this workshop, the various aspects of bioinformatics will be demonstrated by a case study from the food industry.
