There is a large number of methods and techniques that can be used for elemental analysis. Choosing the most appropriate technique to suit the specific analytical requirements is a difficult task.
During the World of Technology & Science we organize a half-day training in which we go deeper into the choices that lead to an optimal result. These include sample pre-processing such as microwave destruction, reprocessing techniques, chemicals and the avoidance/prevention of matrix influences.
Subsequently, a choice has to be made which analysis techniques (AAS, ICP-OES/MS, XRF, SEM-EDX) will be used. During the mini-training, the advantages and disadvantages of the different techniques are discussed.
