The NEW Kvaser Air Bridge Light HS delivers high-speed CAN communication with no strings (or cables) attached.
Kvaser Air Bridge Light HS is a configuration-free wireless CAN bridge that achieves predictable latency, without sacrificing stability or range. Comprising a preconfigured pair of plug-and-play units to exchange raw CAN data, the Kvaser Air Bridge Light HS is designed for environments or situations that make wired connection unsuitable or challenging e.g. between two moving parts that are connected by CAN.
There are two versions: (00808-3) Kvaser Air Bridge Light HS is approved for the European Union, while (01008-6) Kvaser Air Bridge Light HS (FCC) complies with US certification. Both share the same functionality but have different radio transmission schemes due to regulatory differences.
Get into the Details
The Kvaser Air Bridge Light HS employs a proprietary 2.4G radio and frequency-hopping mechanism to control the data rate and achieve predictable latencies.
Radio-Enabled Wireless Connectivity
Kvaser Air Bridge Light HS uses a point-to-point radio link to transmit raw CAN frames, creating a high-speed, low-latency wireless bridge between your CAN bus systems. Unlike WiFi and Bluetooth, this new device has it’s own developed protocol – it utilizes 2.4 GHz Gaussian Frequency-Shift Keying (GFSK) with Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) modulation that splits one system into two parts, allowing the Kvaser Air Bridge to control the latency of the connection (approximately 4.8 ms). This also allows the Air Bridge to achieve a more effective connection range, up to 70 m.
