Paralleling Gallium Nitride (GaN) transistors in order to get higher current ratings is one of the answers to the low voltage and high current power converters such as those for 48V electrical systems present in a newer hybrid and full electric cars. Very fast switching of GaNs is problematic for current sharing because during transients current should be equally spread among paralleled transistors, which is not the case. In order to analyse dynamic current sharing, a transistor with the smallest package is used. A converter is made and measurements are compared with simulations.
