The ShockLine MS46131A PC-controlled 1-port vector network analyzers (VNAs) is a modular concept for passive device test applications that cover with three different models frequencies from 1 MHz to 8 / 20 / 43.5 GHz. Within this presentation we’ll first introduce briefly in the Anritsu’s patented nonlinear transmission line (NLTL) technology VNA-on-chip technology followed by an overview of existing features and potential microwave applications in engineering, manufacturing, and education. Due to the modular USB concept it’s possible to control several 1-port VNAs from an external Windows PC for quasi simultaneous testing of multi-port DUTs like cables or antennas. We’ll end the presentation with an outlook into future possibilities that allows the usage of 2 or more VNA heads for coherent multiport operations that allows the spatial deployment of the measurement points.
