In his presentation, Prof. Jelle Saldien will make the argument that the evolution towards the experience society comes with a need for better interactions and an improved understanding of how to design for those experiences. Following this line of thinking, he will discuss interaction design that includes the implementation of flow, playful and game-like experiences through the coupling of digital bits and physical atoms. (e.g. Ishii’s Tangible Bits) . Furthermore, he will underline the importance of open communities in such design processes in order to create sustainable product-services by, for example, tying into the maker movement, practices of participatory design and the future of IoT.
